- Mosaic's ordering system allows users to set up orders, specifying the samples they want and the format they want them in. Mosaic determines the operations required and turns this into a workflow, which is automatically passed to the workflow manager.
- Orders are validated for a wide variety of potential problems (for example insufficient compound exists, labware would overflow, compound transfers below minimum accurate pipetting volume for a machine), allowing correction or alternative planning before the processing begins.
- Users can track the progress of their orders, and view feedback on any items that could not be fulfilled.
- Mosaic can be closely integrated with structure databases and results analysis systems to provide seamless workflow management. For example follow-up orders can be created automatically by the analysis system based on the experimental results.
- The ordering system can be deployed to users remote from the dispensary, globally if desired. Web-browser based user interfaces make deployment easy.
- Customisable wizards enable frequent inventory management operations to be setup once and executed with just a few mouse clicks. For example a supervisor can search for plates that need to be replenished based on criteria such as age, number of wells containing less than a threshold volume or the number of freeze-thaw cycles the plate has experienced.
